Whoops!
So, KBlog’s server (”Jehuda”) lost Internet connectivity for much of the day… sorry about that. I’m considering moving the blog (and my other sites) to TextDrive.com — their $25/mo. plan looks like it would serve my needs in perpetuity, plus a coworker recommends them. And there was much rejoicing.

New subscription service
Seems like “bot a blog” didn’t work at all, so there’s a new Subscription sign-up box in the right-hand bar, powered by Bloglet. If you sign up, you’ll receive a daily e-mail whenever there’s new content.

Mozilla/Firefox Support Soon
I’m a web developer by trade, so I’ve heard plenty about the Microsoft security nonsense surrounding Internet Explorer. I’ve also noticed a steady increase in the number of non-IE visitors to the blog. Having just visited the site with the Firefox browser, I see that the style sheet and layout certainly aren’t being rendered as nicely as in I.E. As such, I’ll try to update the Kosher Blog code to accommodate Mozilla/Firefox users as soon as I can.

Belated Greetings
I know they’ve both been posting/commenting up a storm already, but I’d like to extend formal greetings to Beerhound and NonMevushalMarc, who will be heading up the KosherBlog Wine Desk.
If you have any suggestions or questions for our Chief Sommeliers, please send them to submit[at]kosherblog[dot]net.

Kosher Blog 2.0
I felt the old layout was getting too cluttered, so I’ve consolidate the side columns into one column on the right, and relegated the Google ads to the far right, outside the main content area. This gives us more overall room for postings.
As an added bonus, we now have a more logo-like Kosher Blog header, and a revised tag-line, “Finding the finer side of everyday Kosher living.” It’s really a more apt motto, since this blog isn’t about eating caviar and foie gras, it’s about expecting better quality Kosher foods in the Jewish marketplace — not settling for second-class cuisine because Miller’s and Manischewitz say so.
Please feel free to comment on any of the recent changes.

Greetings, part 3
Welcome to ColumbiaAuds, who recently returned to Boston from New York, and will be providing color commentary now and then.

More greetings
The Kosher Blog would like to formally welcome meredith to the Kosher Blog family. She’ll be covering the New York beat, as I don’t make yerida from Boston very much.
