VOTE: Choose 5 names for Brookline’s new butcher

Our editorial team narrowed down the many submissions to several dozen with at least arguable marketing potential. (Of those who submitted more than six names, we included from only the first six.) Choose up to five names that you prefer.

Morris and Joe Naggar, butcher proprietors, will consider the top-voted names for their new shop.

(Also see our March 11 and March 12 posts about the new butcher.)

Bracha vehatzlacha!!
i think you shuold include all three words HARVARD KOSHER MEATS like this the folks from out of town will know what it is and where its located and overall that its kosher. Keep up the great work!!

If “Basari” wins, it should be corrected to “B’sari” before put on any signs . . .

Avraham,
Chas v’sholom! If you put Harvard in the name, people from out of town will go to Harvard Square!

“A Cut Above” is leading in early voting… but I’m worried that it could be confused for a barber shop ;)

A late entry I do not see on your list

GKKD MARKET

(GLAT KOSHER KARNOVOR’S DELIGHT)

The Colbert butcher!

A number of these may find themselves bounced by lawyers. For instance, “Harvard” anything will get the folks across the river suing in an instant. It’s gotta be “Harvard St. —” whatever. And isn’t “Fresser’s Delight” a sandwich at Rubin’s?

can’t wait!! which ever the name, wishing you LOTS of success!

one question, when you say “Kosher Korner” do you mean to say THE Kosher Korner, and so for the others like THE little butcher shop, etc.?

We’ll leave definite and indefinite articles at the discretion of the proprietors.

Careful – “A Cut Above” is a non-kosher deli in Canton MA . . . and . . . a Federally Registered Trademark for a Chicago based non-kosher packing house.

Would love to see a non-meat-specific name. A lotta people who seek out Kosher products are vegetarians, remember. An inclusive name would be great.

How about “shoykhet”, “geheft” or “The Meat Meyven”

Hava the Veala?

How about “NOT Piggly Wiggly”?

i think the red heffer sounds the best!!

it’s been named “Grape Leaves.” There’s an article online today that says it’ll be opening in August. Anyone here pick that name?
