Sunday: Ruth’s Kitchen “Renovation Celebration”

Edna Bension has spent the last three months renovating Ruth’s Kitchen — 401 Harvard Street, Brookline — and its menu, which now includes her mouth-watering Persian specialties and a healthy dose of additional Middle Eastern and Sephardic offerings. She will be open for a Renovation Celebration this Sunday, January 27, from 10 AM to 7 PM, with free samples between noon and 3. It’s a chance to think about what you might like for the following Shabbat, or even the Super Bowl. See you there!

Loads of hazlacha as you begin this new venture!

Your faithful fans,
Annette, Chaim,Yaakov, and Mordechai Horwath

I wish you luck with all you do, hazlacha rabah,
g-d bless you and yours.

Did anyone go? How’s the new menu?

I didn’t go on Sunday, but I went last night to get some food. There is definitely new stuff in the display cases. I got stuffed(meat) eggplant and stuffed(meat and rice) grape leaves for my wife and she said they were very good.

Sad to see that Ruth’s Kitchen is only open three days a week in the summer (Wed., Thurs. and Fri.).

More open hours would mean more business (and yes, more labor expenses).

I drove by Ruth’s Kitchen yesterday afternoon and it was closed. Not a good sign for a kosher establishment to be closed on Thursday right before Shabbat. Anyone know what’s going on?

Edna/Ruth’s Kitchen did not close. She moved to the corner of Embassy and Chestnut Hill in Brighton. She plans on opening under the name “Ora Caterers” and will be open Thursday and Friday to the public for takeout only.
