BS"D

I didn't know there was a vaad dinner. Louisville is this little backwater place Jewishwise, but I've been very impressed with the kashrus since the rabbi got there lo these many years ago. Unfortunately, while the kashrus is exemplary, the choice of available food is decreasing with the population who cares about such things. Yes, mom is quite endearing, unlike her son (grin).

Smoked a Wise Organic turkey breast saddle in the Brinkmann last week. I heard no complaints.

P.S. Craig, saw your Mom at the Vaad dinner last week. The food was so-so. She was terrific.

Is Clubhouse Cafe under the same management as Le Marais? I haven't been to Le Marais since the to-do earlier this year, and if this is owned and managed by the same people then I'll know to stay away from it too.

I regard R Bitton as a trustworthy person — as the OU did in hiring him as a mashgiach — and I take his word and judgment about what he saw there over those of anonymous people at the OU who weren't there. The anonymous smears that were circulated about him by or on behalf either of the restaurant or of the OU — that he was brain damaged, or that he was a fanatical BT — did nothing to reassure me that his concerns were unwarranted.

Yay! A Kosher Blog meme!

@Kosher Critic: can the tuna, and try Clubhouse Cafe! It's quite nice... more soon.

@Craig: I do have some nice pictures of brisket, but not of anyone eating it. It's been a few weeks since I made it, and just reviewing my pictures makes me crave more.

And for all you kind folks who've gone out of your way to post worthwhile comments to even a "coming soon" thread, here's some more goodness on its way: the Kosher Blog's fourth redesign. Visually, I'm going for something a little less sans-serif, a little softer on the eyes, and more like a magazine site rather than a blog. I also plan to change forum software to something (bbPress) that'll integrate more fully with WordPress, so conversations can easily migrate from the forums to the blog, and vice versa -- maybe someday overtaking Chowhound's kosher board?

Any suggestions while I'm in the design phase?

BS"D

And I haven't smoked a brisket since this teaser was posted. I want you to know, Jabbett, that I'll be pretty dismayed if you don't post bunches of pictures as well, especially of people eating your brisket with looks of shock and satisfaction at how good Q can really be- smiles from ear to ear would be good.

Is it just me who is having a hard time waiting for these promised pearls? I have been holding off trying the Clubhouse Cafe and eating canned tuna until these items are posted.
