Greetings from Memphis!

The 19th-annual ASBEE/Kroger Kosher BBQ Competition takes place this Sunday, and I’m in Memphis to cover the action! I will be competing as well, so wish me luck. Stay tuned for updates….

Guys, be matzliach, and do us proud! By the way, a friend and I were comparing briskets, and his use of pecan wood made for a very tasty brisket. Seemsthere are at least 4 people in our community who regularly smoke meat for Shabbos, so it may be time to make a pilgrimage to our neck of the world pretty soon.

Craig: Unfortunately, jabbett couldn’t make it, and I’m braving it alone. More on that in my next post…

Well, then you deserve a double dose of hatzlacha. Are you armed with the bean recipe, or are you just doing meat? In any case, I’m sure you’ll show more than respectably. Get the lay of the land, see what’s up and whether it’s worthwhile to come in subsequent years, then I’m sure if it is, everyone will be blown away by your team in the future. After all, you can enlst help from all over the world, theoretically, to optimize your situation there in the future. Have a great Shabbos!
