Wow, that is sad. I just had to cancel plans to go there about 3 weeks ago. Now I really regret it.
That’s a shame. My wife only discovered the place a few years ago, and we managed to go there twice.
So… I can’t say that I’ll miss the Village Crown. While they were one of the few that managed to stay open during Pesach, I can’t say that my experiences there left me with any real need to ever go there again. I’ve visited both the Dairy and the Moroccan sides. Eh. But then, I never was one to go by the opinions of S.I.W.
Marti… still, you’ve gotta admit this loss will be felt. VC was the ONLY sit-down kosher restaurant in the Village.
There’s still Madras Cafe and Caravan of Dreams.
