Unfortunate but all you need to know about this restaurant you can get by looking at the yard in front. No excuse for having a small propery with high weeds. Shows a lack of caring and extreme mediocrity. If the place was TRYING I would be less harsh. But given the lack of functionality of training of waitstaff, very doughy ( like where is the chicken) General Gao chicken.. I am afraid to say that after putting up with mediocre meals for years there, it is to the point of my not going back. Like, why can't they even take care of the outside of their property>? With three employees I saw sitting around, lights off, no customers.. maybe they would find something useful to do.

We went to Shalom Beijing last night, and it was absolute dreck. The chicken (limp) and broccoli (hard) were tasteless and were obviously heated up in the microwave and served as is. My egg roll was served cold, the hot and sour soup was cold and puree-like, and even the rice was bland. The service was the pits. The waitress was barely able to put two words together in English, nor did she understand what we were saying. They didn't bring over the customary pot of tea, I had to get up to ask for spoons for the kids, and they couldn't even do dessert right (dumping 5 fortune cookies on the bill - whatever happened to oranges?). Overall, with the exception of the helpful mashgiach, it was a horrible experience and we vow not to return. Another disappointing outing to a Boston kosher restaurant.

Though it is rather exiting to have a new option. Shalom Beijing is the same as befroe, only it has a new owner. The food is the taste. I wish somethin a little better would come along as an alternative option.

~It is nice to have that 10% off cupon, the prices are not the lowest for that quality of food

Visited after grand opening....have been to China many times, and have to say the flavors are the most authentic I have tasted in Boston area; certainly best Kosher Chinese I have had. Service good; owners very pleasant. New Chinese decor very lovely. Sun parlor portion wonderful. Price quite low for a kosher gourmet place. A winner. Try the cumin lamb, and spicy veal; fish...delicious!
