Dairy free, O-U hechshered brownie mix! (although picture of box shows only an O-U, not an O-U-P).

http://www.cherrybrookkitchen.com/

Looks like they sell directly from their website. Also available from Amazon, where it qualifies for free shipping.

For those who live in the Metro DC-Baltimore area, Super Fresh (part of the A&P Chain) has Manischewitz cake mixes on sale for $1.50 as part of their Jewish Holidays sale.

I have not tried them yet, but as soon as I run out of the DH mixes - I will. I hope they are good- it was such a shame to lose the parave DH cakes. Now DH is the same as Betty Crocker to me- they are both dairy. The company Gefen has been making some pretty good cookie mixes so maybe they too will come out with a good cake mix.

Does anyone have an extremely simple parve brownie recipe that can really substitute for Duncan Hines mixes? It would seem that if you make up the dry mix in advance and keep it in the freezer, you could make your life simple?

Anyone up to the challenge of coming up with a recipe?

Somehow, a $6/box cakemix (no matter how many preservatives they left out) doesn't substitute...

ATTENTION PARVE CAKE LOVERS!!!

Brass Ladle (brassladle.com) offers three Kosher-Parve cake mixes which taste great. All cakes are under strict orthodox rabbinical supervision.
World's Famoous Mocha Mud cake Mix, World's Famous Poppy Seed Cake Mix and World's Famous Carrot Cake Mix. They can all be ordered on line and shipped to you the same day. I heard there are more being developed.

I think it's a *great* idea. I've purchased their Passover cake mixes, and have to say, I'm pretty impressed, all things considered.

Even at 2.49 each, it's still less than half the price of other "health food store" Pareve cake mixes (5.49 and up). And if it makes the same amount of cake (a bundt or 2-layer) as a Duncan Hines mix, I'm definitely sold. (Most of the pricier ones only make a single layer or a dozen cupcakes, no chance of making anything that resembles a Bundt cake.)
