Kosherfest Meetup?

Kosherfest, the annual east-coast kosher food trade show, is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, November 15-16, at the Javits Center in New York. I’ll be making my way down from Boston on the 15th to spend the day in Manhattan, and it would be great to meet up with other aficionados who are attending the event, even perhaps get a group together for a swanky post-show dinner. Anyone interested?

Great idea! I doubt I’ll be able to make it, but good luck to getting a good group together.

I’ll be at kosherfest; cannot hang around for dinner; besides I’ll be stuffed after a day of eating!

I’m in. And I’ll stop eating 3 days before to make room :) Can anyone suggest a good place for dinner?

I doubt I can actually attend Kosherfest because it is during business hours, but I am game for a post Kosherfest dinner with the crew.

Is Kosherfest open to those of us who are not in the food industry? I would love to go…

Technically, Kosherfest is a trade show, a business-to-business event. From their website:

Kosherfest is open to trade professionals only. Due to liability restrictions, no strollers and no one under the age of 18 will be permitted on the show floor. There will be NO exceptions. Kosherfest is a business-to-business event and as a trade event we ask that sampling be limited to business. No excessive product sampling will be allowed.

But judging by the mix of people I saw last year, it’s clear that plenty of “civilians” attend. The registration doesn’t require a company name to sign-up, just a $25 payment.

Does that mean that your badge won’t have a company name printed on it? My bad, I said I work for kosherblog.net :)

My badge will say “The Kosher Blog,” so you’re in good shape. I’ll make sure to have a Kosher Blog pin for you, too :) (Although last year, wearing a Kosher Blog pin, I steered clear of the La Briute booth, because I really lambasted their product and feared reciprocal tongue-lashing!)
