“Kosher Day” at Whole Foods Brighton
The Jewish Advocate reports that Whole Foods in Brighton will be hosting a “Kosher Day” on Sunday, September 12 from noon to 3PM, featuring “activities and food tastings.” Rabbi Shmuel Posner of Greater Boston Chabad will be available to answer questions and “lead kosher tours of the store.” Sounds like it’s worth a visit, even if just to learn more about that funny Shield-Star-K that’s on several of their store-brand products.

Does anyone know whether the Shield-Star-K is legit? A friend and I came across it recently, on a flavored milk beverage. (It was earlier this summer, so I don’t remember specifics.
I asked once and I got a "no".
The Shield Star-K is quite legitamite. The group is called Kosher Technical Konsultants & they are very thorough with their research of a product or service before it is approved.
In the industry SSK is a BIg nono no one will say why and there is no one who is identifiable in the organization except the owner Rabbi ALan Ira Silver MD I think it needs some research if anyone knows a local rabbi who supervises for SSK or endorses SSK POST PLEASE
